Desireé Cranfield - GiLE

Dr. Desireé Cranfield

Dr. Desireé Cranfield is appointed as a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Programme Director for the Business Management UG programme within the School of Management at Swansea University, Wales.  She has a Ph.D. in Knowledge Management at Southampton University, UK, and an M.Sc. in Data Communication Systems, Brunel, UK.  Dr. Cranfield has completed a PGCert for teaching within Higher Education and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.  Her academic experience spans several years, both within the UK and in South Africa, and she has undertaken several management roles within the Higher Education context.  She is a HEA mentor and assessor within the university.  Her research interests lie within the context of public sector organizations and she is keenly interested in the adoption and use of technology within this context to enhance learning and teaching, as well as improve processes and practices. She is also keenly interested in how knowledge sharing takes place as part of knowledge management more broadly within Higher Education, and how creating opportunities for “informal conversations” can be used as a technique to enhance practice.

 

Reeta Dwivendi

Dr. Reeta Dwivedi

Dr. Reeta Dwivedi is presently working as an Assistant Professor in Model Institute of Education and Research, Jammu, J&K, India. Formerly she has worked about 8 years as faculty in English at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University Agra, India. She has more than 17 years of experience of teaching at all the three levels i.e. school, college and university. She earned Ph.D in English from Dr .B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, India on the topic ‘Changing Social patterns in the Novels of Jane Austen: A Study in Social Mobility’. She has been awarded with Pushpa Bool Chandani Award for Securing highest marks in PG Diploma in Translation Theory and Practice from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, India. Dr. Dwivedi has participated and presented research papers in various National and International Seminars and Conferences. She has also published research papers, articles & book chapters in various referred and reputed National and International Journals. She has two books in her publication. She has received ‘Build for the Future Award’ in recognition of research publications and output from MIER College of Education. She is an active member of various professional/Educational societies. She is also member of the editorial board of many international journals.

 

Réka Fehér - GiLE Foundation

Réka Fehér

Réka Fehér  received both her BA and MA in American Studies at the School of English and American Studies at ELTE. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in the fields of media, popular culture, and politics. Growing up in the US has helped her take part in unique opportunities in Budapest. She taught as a Native Speaker Lecturer for six years at the American Studies Department at ELTE, teaching both BA and MA students a variety of classes, mainly focused on American culture, academic writing, and media studies. On the side she has been teaching academic writing to Ph.D. and MA students for the past few years at different universities, including BME and Corvinus. She also has extensive experience in proofreading and copyediting books and academic journals and articles. One of her passions has always been to find better ways and tools to help university students maximize their time and opportunities during their studies which she tried to integrate into her work as a teacher at university.

 

Dr. Candy Fresacher - GiLE Reviewer

Dr. Candy Fresacher

Dr. Candy Fresacher, an American, has been teaching at various vocational colleges in Vienna for the past 25 years.  In 2006 she received her Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Vienna. In the past fifteen years she has become involved in teacher training as part of her position on the board and as Chair of TEA (Teachers of English in Austria).  She has also edited their ELT News and published a number of articles including, for example, in the online site Humanizing Language Teaching. She has written a chapter for the book Positive Psychology in SLA which came out in 2016 as well as a chapter in Creativity in ELT available free online. .In 2015 she received the Pannonia Award from the University of Pannonia in Hungary. Although retired she still conducts seminars for the professional development of English teachers including the topics of Emotional Intelligence and Positivity. While owner of her small company she also held seminars on Emotional Intelligence in the business world.

 

Isabella Venter - GiLE

Dr. Isabella Venter

Prof. Dr. Isabella Venter obtained her Doctoral degree in 2000 from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. She held positions at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Faculty of Military Science, Stellenbosch University and the Business School of Stellenbosch University before joining the Computer Science Department at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.  Until April 2017, she acted as Chairperson of the Department and is currently the Chair of the Management Committee of the OpenServe/Aria Technologies Africa Centre of Excellence. Prof. Venter’s research interest is Computer Science Education, Information Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) and Human Computer Interaction (HCI).
